This Giving Coin was given to me by Edward West, on his first trip to BC (and to Canada!)

I had recently moved into a new place, and some of my things had gotten broken in the move. Among the casualties was a mug that I had been given at my christening – I had drunk tea out of it my whole life and I was very sad to see it broken in many pieces.

Edward carefully and patiently assembled the mug again with ceramic glue – it was not an easy task, but he did it (save for the few pieces that seem to have vanished into thin air). It must have been about 30 pieces he put back together.

It will never hold liquid again, but it means a lot to me to see it sitting on my windowsill. Now my special mug also reminds me how much Edward means to me too. :)
